Skylox Part One

I was a new recruit in Sky Army,but I was being treated like a piece of trash because I wasn't really good with combat,so I tended to be the loner of Sky Army you could say.I felt a few drops of rain as I was walking back towards my temporary camp."I suppose I could go for a bit of fishing,"I said to myself.I grabbed my fishing rod and headed towards a small pond near my camp.I was feeling a bit hungry anyways.I became lost in my thoughts about a few friends of mine who I hadn't seen in awhile,as I tend to do when I'm out fishing.A voice broke my thoughts.

"Hey recruit,what are you doing out here,"it said.I nearly jumped out of my skin.I looked up to see Sky and Deadlox.

"I-I was just doing some fishing.I just felt a bit hungry sooo..."My voice trailed off.I seem to always do that when they're around.

"You should be getting ready soon,"Deadlox said,"the squids are on the move again."

"o-okay..."I replied quietly.I knew I was a goner.I was terrible at fighting.I ran back to my camp,grabbed my armor,sword,and plenty of health poitons.
Sky and Deadlox were waiting outside for me.Once I had all my equipment,I headed to the beach with them.

When we arrived I could hear all sorts of insults coming my way in whispers."I bet she'll be the first one to die." "What are you doing here?You don't belong on the battlefield."Each insult made me more nervous and frightful for my life.I wouldn't stand a chance.I knew I would be dead as soon as the battle started.

The moment the squids came out of the water the quiet instantly filled with the clanging of swords and shields.I was pinned up against this rather agreesive looking squid.I was a fast moving target,but it wouldn't keep me alive for long.He got me on the shoulder and my left arm.He pinned me to the ground.Everything seem to slow down,the sound around me became muffled.I could hear nothing but me panting."So this is what it's like to die,"I thought.I shut my eyes.The noise no longer sounded muffled,everthing sped back up.I saw Sky taking down the squid.My wounds burned terribly.My vision went in and out of focus.I heard glass shattering and saw this red mist,which cleared up instantly.The burning disappeared.Sky helped me back up.I felt my shoulder.The wounds were gone."Thanks Sky,"I said.

He was already gone I could see him dashing towards Deadlox.I could see Deadlox struggling with a burly looking squid.Seeing this I followed him to provide my self as a distraction if needed,but when I got there the squid was about to subdue Sky."Run Ty!!Get out of here!!!"

My heart skipped a beat.The squid was about to impale Sky with his sword."No,"I whispered.What happened next was to gruesome to describe.Sky barely had any breath left in him.Deadlox charged at the squid.Managing to kill him rather quickly.The squids retreated,and the beach was quiet again.My knees went weak.I could see the tears welling up in Deadlox's eyes.He knelt beside Sky."Thank you Ty,for everthing,"Sky whispered.His breathing became shallower.

" No Sky please don't die on me now.Sky please."Deadlox whispered as he held Sky's hand to his forehead.We were all begging for him to live.Deadlox's tears seemed to stream endlessly down his face.

Sky gave us all a warm smile."You guys are the best recruits a guy could ever have."Those were the last words spoken by our commander.Deadlox gave Sky one last kiss before leaving him.
